Rome Airport – Bus

Rome Airport is located in the town of Fiumicino, a municipality of about 77.000 population. The city belongs to Roma province and there are about 35 km from Rome Fiumicino Airport to the city of Rome. That’s why the airport is also called Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport. Here you can find all the bus options which connect the Rome Airport with the Rome city centre.

There are bus lines which cover almost the entire Rome city and Lazio area. The main bus station in Rome for Roman, Italian and European destinations is the station of Tiburtina. The station is located in the centre of Rome, about 40 minutes by car and 1 hour by public transport from the Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport.
 

Cotral Bus Stop

Cotral Bus Stop is the name of the an airport bus line which will lead you from Rome Airport to the Rome city centre. You can find it in the arrivals area in front of the Terminal 2. Within the Rome Airport it is pointed out as “Regional Bus Station”, so when you’ve just landed follow these signs. The one-way ticket costs 5€ (online) or 7€ in person at the bus. Cotral bus stops at the Rome city centre at the following stops:

- Cornelia Station
- Eur-Magliana Station
- Ostia – Piazza Sirio
- Ostia – Piazza Stazione

Tiburtina Station is one of the main train stations in Italy and is the hub for the high speed and regional trains. It has over 20 million passengers every year. It is located in the eastern Rome and it is very accessible from any point of the city, you can reach it with metro easily. Tiburtina Station is open from 05:30h to 23:30h. It counts with a luggage office, currency exchange, cafeteria, newstand, restrooms and taxi service.

SIT Shuttle bus

Once you’ve bought the ticket, do not worry cause it is valid for the entire day. The one-way ticket price is 5€ (online) or 6€ (in person). It runs between 05:00h and 20:30h from Rome, and between 08:30h and 00:30h from Rome Airport. The whole ride takes around 50 minutes. You can also reach it following the “Regional Bus Station” signs once you’ve landed. This bus stops in:

T.A.M Bus

The T.A.M. Ltd is a turism company authorized by the Province of Rome connecting Fiumicino center, Fiumicino Airport to Ostiense station and Termini, in just about 40 minutes.
This bus stop at the Rome Airport is located at the arrivals area of Terminal 3, rank number 6. To reach them you have to follow “Bus Station” signs once you’ve landed. Bus passes every 30 minutes. The one-way ticket costs 5€ and the returning ticket 8€. The price doesn’t change if you buy it online or in person. It stops in Rome city stops of:

Terravision Bus

This bus stop is also at the arrivals area of Terminal 3, concretely at the rank number 7. To reach it follow the “Bus Station” signs when you’ve landed. Terravision bus is a direct line from the Rome Airport to Rome city centre Termini Station. It works every day and passes every 30 minutes. The ride takes between 40 and 50 minutes. The one-way ticket price is 4€ (online) or 6€ (in person), and the returning ticket costs 8€ (online) or 11€ (in person).
It stops at Termini Station.

Atral Schiaffini

To take this bus you need to go to the arrivals area of the Terminal 3. Concretely in the rank 8. Once you’ve landed follow the “Bus Station” signs. This travel company, Schiaffini has buses from which connect Rome Airport with Rome city centre. Bus passes every day at Rome Airport from 05:35h to 23:00h every 30 minutes aproximately, and it takes around 45 minutes.
It stops at Termini Station.
